Welcome to our blog. We decided to make this blog in order to establish a green ethos within the school, whilst additionally promoting the involvement of students of all ages within our school community to feel a part of the change that we, as Eco Prefects, will try to create.
So who are we?
The Eco prefects in U6 (2020-2021): Mia and Lyebah
We will be running the blog this year, and we hope to pass it down to the next eco prefects. If you have anything eco-related that you would like to see mentioned on this page, whether that be an interesting article you have read, a documentary you have seen or just something eco-based that you would like posted on our page, please feel free to contact us via our 'contact us' section at the bottom of the blog or by our school emails (which I will leave down below). We want to ensure everyone feels they can use this as a creative space, so don't hesitate to contact us :)
What will we be posting about?
Our main vision for this blog is to raise awareness about ways you can try to lead more sustainable lives yourself. We hope to create posts that will be informative as well as interesting for everyone to enjoy. Some examples of posts to look forward to include; understanding food waste and how to tackle the problem, COVID-19 and the environment (how the coronavirus has impacted the global environment), how you can be more eco-friendly even during these strange times and much more. As well as this we hope to keep you updated on any eco-friendly activities that occur within the school community, and post about any other interesting information surrounding sustainability that we come across. We will also look into posting occasional challenges such as quizzes and other activities for students and staff to take part in to ensure that this space is as interactive as possible and that our content stays relevant for all age groups.
How often should you expect to see posts?
We plan to try and post every 2 week in order to remain as active as possible. Given our busy schedules as A-level students, the frequency of our posts may vary. However, we will try our hardest to stay frequent with posts.
The Bottom Line
Ultimately, we want to ensure that we all understand the importance of environmental conservation as a community at school, so we hope that by our blog posts are centered around being pro-active and striving for greener lifestyle choices independently. We will simultaneously be able to make our school collectively as eco-friendly as possible.
